Smashing stereotypes. Living with wonder, joy, and still becoming — after 50.
Graybellion is for women over 50 who refuse to disappear quietly.
It’s a place for stories, books, style, food, careers, and conversations — for a life that still feels open and interesting.
How’s 2026 rolling out for you so far?
I’m not talking about the state of the world — I’m talking about your world. For many women over 50, January isn’t about resolutions so much as reflection. What’s still working. What’s quietly draining us. And what, finally, needs to change as we move into this next chapter of life.
As it happens, 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse, which officially begins on February 17. In the Chinese zodiac, the Fire Horse appears only once every 60 years and is associated with intense energy, bold action, transformation, breakthroughs, and disruption. That description felt uncannily accurate as I stepped into the year — not cautiously, but honestly — in true Graybellion fashion.
Here’s how the Fire Horse has shown up for me so far:
Intense energy: A persistent restlessness — the sense that staying the same was no longer an option.
Bold action: I quit my job. The 50+ hour workweeks were no longer serving my health or my life, so I took a scary step and resigned.
Transformation: I realized I needed both a physical reset and a mental one. I have been going to the gym and swimming laps. I’ve decided to begin a daily gratitude practice and focus on what is right with me and the world— small shifts that feel quietly powerful.
Breakthroughs: Still working on this one 😉
Disruption: I’m deliberately disrupting my default introversion — pushing myself into group settings, embracing discomfort, and planning a solo trip , which feels very uncomfortable and awkward. Like ~ what will I do by myself for a week? If you’ve done a solo trip, I’d love to hear about the good, bad and the ugly!
January asked the hard questions. February feels like the moment we start answering them — imperfectly, courageously, and in our own time. For women who want to change the narrative around next chapters and life after 50, 60 and beyond, reinvention isn’t about starting over; it’s about choosing to take brave steps forward, no matter how small.
So I’m curious — what is this year asking of you right now?
And what might you be ready to leave behind as you move forward?
Finally found the time to watch the film, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.I give it a 4 star review. Worth the hour +, especially for Bruce fans.
High/Low Style Edits
There’s something about cool weather that makes me want to pull it all together — not just emotionally, but sartorially. Enter the blazer: my forever favorite and the true MVP of my closet. Some people amass large collections of shoes….but for me, it’s all abut blazers and jackets.
Whether it’s tossed over jeans and a tee, paired with trousers for a meeting, or layered atop a LBD for dinner, the right blazer has the power to make everything feel pulled together and polished.
In true Graybellion style, I’ve rounded up a few standouts — from high-end investment pieces to budget-friendly finds — because great style should always be accessible, no matter the price tag. Read more
