Meet Jane Tabachnick ~ Greybellion member & Creative Entrepreneur
What current (and/or future) projects fuel your days and fill your soul with purpose?
These are incredibly exciting times for me - I have so many projects that light me up every day. I’m continually inspired by my clients, most of whom are mission-driven entrepreneurs with a message, impact, or story they’re eager to share with the world through their books. Each collaboration teaches me something new and brings fresh opportunities for intellectual and personal growth, which truly fuels my inquisitive nature.
I’ve also begun hosting writing workshops in Paris, a city that constantly inspires me. My dream is to evolve these into full-fledged book writing retreats, where authors can immerse themselves in creativity while soaking in the beauty and culture of Paris. My annual trips there always recharge me, as I am filled with inspiration, reflection, and an abundance of walks and discoveries through its magical streets.
My inner geek is exploring how AI can empower authors. Not by writing their books for them, but by simplifying the many steps on their publishing journey. After months of development, I’m thrilled to be preparing the launch of my AI-powered platform, Easy Book Launch, which helps authors streamline the book launch process.
Another passion project of mine is my upcoming book, Permission to Shine. It explores the idea that many women feel they need “permission” to be visible, to share their gifts, and to fully own their light. This topic is deeply personal to me as it’s something I’ve wrestled with throughout my life. After conducting a survey with women on this theme, I was struck by how profoundly it resonated. Their responses reinforced that this is an important conversation worth amplifying.
What’s a personal or professional experience you accomplished after 50 that felt scary to do at first, but turned out to be courageous, freeing, or exciting?
Getting fired after 50 was one of the most unsettling and ultimately liberating moments of my life. At the time, it felt scary and uncertain, but it turned out to be the catalyst for something extraordinary.
After an inspiring conversation with another woman entrepreneur at a conference, I founded my publishing company, Simply Good Press. With no formal experience in the publishing world, other than having self-published my own book, Plain Jane’s Promotional Planner, which had enjoyed wonderful success and media attention, I decided to take a leap of faith.
Fifteen years later, I can honestly say it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. What began as a challenge turned into a deeply fulfilling calling, helping authors share their stories and make an impact in the world. I haven’t looked back since.
If your life were a movie, what would the title be?

What does it mean to you to be part of the Graybellion community?
It’s truly a badge of honor. Reaching this stage of life feels like I’ve lived several lifetimes - each chapter a new iteration of myself. That’s one of the joys of being human: the freedom to reinvent at any age.
Being part of the Graybellion means embodying the wisdom gained through lived experience - the good, the bad, and everything in between. It’s about embracing the calm confidence that comes from truly knowing who you are and caring less about external expectations. There’s a deep sense of empowerment and freedom in that. It allows you to not only move through the world with grace but also to choose the world you want to inhabit.
What’s one piece of advice you’d offer the under-50 crowd?
Trust yourself and honor your authenticity.
In a world overflowing with opinions and “experts” eager to define who we should be, the most fulfilling path is to be unapologetically, fabulously you. Don’t wait for permission or an invitation. If there’s something you want, go after it - boldly and wholeheartedly. The world needs what only you can bring.
What’s your current favorite travel destination, book, or outfit?
My current favorite book is Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. It beautifully explores the creative process and the joy of creating for its own sake without attachment to outcome. It’s both inspiring and liberating. My copy is heavily annotated, and I know it’s one I’ll continue to revisit whenever I need a creative boost.
What inspires you every day?
I believe storytelling has the power to change the world - one book, one reader, one courageous voice at a time. That’s what continues to drive and inspire me every day. I am honored I get to help amplify authors’ voices!
Is your story inspiring ~ we would love to hear from you! Tell us what you are up to….
